About UTSA Pre-Dental

UTSA Pre-Dental Society is an organization at The University of Texas at San Antonio that prepares students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry. We provide opportunities to network with peers and professionals from various aspects of the dental profession. We provide and organize exclusive events through which students can participate in teaching elementary students about dental hygiene, admissions tips from dental school deans, dental students, and dentists. Members are given a glimpse into the expectations for dental school candidates and given access to dental school tours, shadowing at local practices, volunteer events, and socials.

Don't Miss Out

Join us at our bi-weekly meetings for exclusive opportunities to network with distinguished professionals in the field of dentistry. Participate in hands-on activities such as wax-ups and suturing workshops. Gain valuable information regarding dental school applications, and DAT prep. Connect with current dental students, and join us for annual dental school tours.

Volunteering

UTSA Pre-Dental Society offers wonderful volunteering opportunities. We partner with multiple organizations such as the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, Smart Smiles, TMOM (Texas Mission of Mercy), and more. Join our organization and strengthen our community through volunteering outreach.

Brush-Rush

Brush Rush has been one of our proudest programs within the Pre-Dental Society. Brush Rush focuses on teaching the importance of Oral Hygiene to younger elementary students by showing videos, booklets and hands on activities. This is one of the best opportunities within our organization.

Shadowing

We also offer shadowing opportunities as it is critical to get shadowing experience in order to ensure students can make a knowledgeable decision if dentistry is the right career path for them. These opportunities are a privilege and highly expected for dental applications.
